Enhancing recreational opportunities for everyone - Recreation makes life more fun! We want to bring community resources together to make sure that recreational opportunities are available and accessible to everyone in the Grand Valley.
Collaborating with those who know the community best - We will work with community leaders who have direct knowledge of the people and programs we support. By building relationships with and learning from leaders in traditionally underrepresented and marginalized groups, civic and nonprofit organizations, and the recreation sector we will build on their experience and amplify the voices of the experts in their communities.
Supporting Education on the importance of recreation- As we work to provide more recreational opportunities, we recognize the importance of educating the community to provide space, venues, and activities for future generations.
About GVPARF
The idea for Grand Valley Parks and Recreation Foundation was developed in 2020 as a way to lend support to all types of parks and recreation opportunities in Mesa County, Colorado. Founding board members share a core belief that additional resources are needed to help improve access, facilities, and programming for all residents, with additional benefits of also improving the experience for those visiting the vast range of outdoor experiences and park facilities in Mesa County.
